Who are the buyers in Toronto’s booming condo market?

Today the “hot condo” buying business is found in Toronto and business is booming! Many purchasers are shopping for bargains to simply hold a while and then resell, but today more and more people are deciding to stay in the beautiful and progressive city on Lake Ontario’s northern shore and just minutes north of Niagara Falls. In time past condominiums were purchased primarily as a stepping block toward buying ones first home, mostly because they were affordable and easy to resell. But the recent trend in rising prices has seen the condo business as a booming enterprise with homes appreciating significantly over the past few years. It makes good sense to invest in a Toronto condo, and even better sense to move in and remain there.

So much to see so much to do in Toronto

The Greater Toronto Area has so much to offer, whether a tourist on the way to Niagara Falls or heading on to other points of interest in Canada or the United States, there is much to attract visitors. Enough in fact to draw people from far and wide, who often decide to stay and become residents of this growing city. Check out the CN Tower which is the tallest building in the world and considered to be the most recognizable icon in Canada. At a towering 1815 feet or 553.33 meters, it demands attention in the center of Toronto’s active tourist neighborhood. Two million visitors are drawn to see the breathtaking view of Toronto’s downtown and then walk on the glass floor or dine over one thousand feet above the ground while in the revolving restaurant. Other attractions include the Ontario Science Centre which draws over thirty five million visitors each year to see the many innovative exhibits and attractions brought here from Thailand, Turkey, and Trinidad. As one of North America’s largest and most scenic recreational waterfronts, the Toronto waterfront which includes Ontario Place, Harbourfront, the Toronto Islands, and the CN Tower the big event happenings never end.

The market is very stable and prices and profits are on the rise

Many experts agree that the economy is coming out of a recession and with hopes high many more are taking the plunge into real estate than ever before. With stable prices becoming the norm in Toronto economists are saying now is the time to buy and the condo market is an ideal target for those who wish to own a home quickly and more easily than buying in the single family home market. So, if prices and sales have peaked this can be considered a good thing particularly for buyers. Condo sales today, especially in the downtown area, have risen some twelve percent over a year ago.

The emphasis is on small when it comes to buying a condo in Toronto

With sales on the rise it is interesting to take note of just who is making the purchases and what they are looking for in a condominium in and around Toronto. Smaller square footage is highly popular with many in the six hundred to eight hundred square foot range. The downtown area with the ever popular loft style and luxury townhomes and condos on the waterfront draw an upscale buyer who appreciates fine living with appreciation in mind, but who decide to stay because of all that Toronto has to offer.

Sales of Toronto Condos continue to impress

As a solid investment, condo living in the Greater Toronto Area is always a wise investment. Whether purchasing with the intention of moving in or putting the unit up for rent, it is considered a sound investment with a bright financial future ahead. Renting a condominium instead of an apartment just makes good sense because a condo represents a somewhat higher class of neighborhood and more stable record of residency. Those who buy or rent condos do so with the long term in mind, not merely for a month by month roof over their heads.

The waterfront is where it’s all happening

Truly affordable waterfront living is possible in Toronto and the many fashionable condos will testify to the fact that it’s a popular decision to live where transportation is nearby, a hot tub, exercise room, and sauna await those who appreciate home style comforts without sacrificing the convenience of downtown living. Come home to your own Toronto condo and live the good life.

  • Great to buy real estate in Toronto...

    this is very beautiful city.
  • As a former condo owner in the bustling Toronto market I can tell you there were no shortage of buyers when I looked to sell in 2005. Values were rising fast and there still seems to be a lot of people that want in on ground floor level units. If wages don't rise with house prices I don't know how long that is sustainable.
  • Toronto is a beautiful city but boy have they built a lot of condos and townhouses. At some point the market will say enough is enough. Has that happened yet? I need to see more sales numbers to comment.
