Winnipeg Real Estate Rock Solid

There has never been a better time to buy real estate in Winnipeg. So does that mean it is a buyers market? Well actually it is both a buyers and a sellers market in many parts of Canada today. With current interest rates low and home prices on the rise it’s anybody’s guess as to where this boom in the real estate market will end. One thing certain is there have been well over three hundred million dollars in home sales in recent months with no end in sight.

Interest rates are going to go ?
Currently the rate of interest on mortgage loans is hovering around the six percent mark and that is a big reason sales are currently so high. But that can’t last much longer and predictors say it will rise, perhaps significantly over the next twelve months or so, making this the optimum time to buy… or sell your next home. The rock solid real estate market we have here in Winnipeg will most likely always be stable and active because people love the area and surrounding activities. Previously considered a well kept secret, more and more people are choosing to move here to take advantage of all the area has to offer.

The fourth largest city in Canada and capitol of Manitoba
From flourishing fur trading market to forth largest city in all of Canada, Winnipeg has come a long way since founded in 1738 by Sieur de La Vérendrye. He chose the site for a fort he called Fort Rouge. Later on the site became a highly productive fur trading area and the cause of some bitter rivalry between fur traders. A cree Indian word, “win-nipi” which translates to “murky water” became Winnipeg. Situated halfway between the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans, Winnipeg Canada has much to offer in the way of cultural life and remains a strong stable economic structure. In addition to the Manitoba Theatre Center and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet the city center has been revitalized through construction of many high rise buildings and modernization of the entire downtown area. What many older towns strive to accomplish with downtown revitalization, Winnipeg has truly accomplished.

Home sales boom where jobs are plentiful
The area is blessed with many job opportunities through food processing, clothing manufacturing, machine tools, farm machinery, electronic components, and furniture industries. All this represents an extremely stable economic base that is the envy of many other areas of the world. It also explains why the Winnipeg area is known to have a rock solid real estate market. People go where the jobs are and remain there for a lifetime. Buying a new home in the area is a fun and exciting prospect that should not be taken lightly because it may well be the next step to moving up to a bigger finer home. Stable prices and low interest rates have convinced many to “move up” to a higher priced home with more to offer, especially those with growing families. This leaves an opportunity for that first time home buyer to find affordable housing to begin their upward progress in home ownership.

Winnipeg the “Prairie Capital” has something for everyone
The ethnic diversity found in this area includes those who came from far off lands such as the Ukraine, Germany, Great Britain, and France looking for opportunities that were previously denied to them. One basic right that was missing to them was the right of home and property ownership. That can be found in abundance and at affordable cost here in the Manitoba capital of Winnipeg.

Bear in mind the source of this information. Sales pitch propaganda and page one on the "Congratulations! You are now a realtor" hand-book...
  • This site is for sale by owner. This article is months old also. Written in July things did look decent at least if you believe mainstream media. If you have a crystal ball of where things will be 3 months from now please tell me so I can make some money.

There's no reason for real estate to be so high in the Peg, it's really not a great place to live.
